Our Purpose: Glorify God
* Feel, think, and act so that God looks as great as He really is.
* God has given the church to make His greatness visible.
Ways the Church Proclaims his Excellencies
“Chosen People”
* God unites people from every tribe, nation, and tongue into one people for His own possession.
* What He does, He does permanently. So that our very existence as one people proclaims His excellencies.
“Royal Priesthood”
* Priests represented the people before God and taught how to approach Him.
* Unbelievers still need to be shown the way.
* The question: Do people experience Jesus here, or is this just another gathering?
“Holy Nation”
* God calls even former Gentiles who were once steeped in darkness, holy.
* The Spirit produces a holiness the pagan world cannot explain.
* When the light of God shines from His people, even the watching world is put to shame by the contrast.
So now what?
* Live so that everything about the church says He is alive and powerful—not just another club.
