The Test of Abraham’s Faith
Principle 1: God wants to do what man cannot do so that he gets all the credit and all the glory.
Part 1 – The Call
* First step of faith: Acknowledge God's call/speaking.
Part 2 – The Response
* Abraham sets out early in the morning to do what the Lord was calling him to do
Principle 2: The call of God requires a response.
Part 3 – The Trust
* Abraham understands that Issac is destined to have many offspring, because Abraham’s numerous offspring are going to come through him.
* Abraham understands that the seed of the woman is coming through Isaac.
Part 4 – The Results
1. God stops Abraham – child sacrifice is never ok with God
2. God provides a substitute – this is a picture of Christ
3. God re-affirms the promise – truth faith demonstrated
Principle 4: our acceptance before God is based solely on our trusting what God has said and what he has promised.
