The Promise Unfolded: The One Story of Scripture

Q1.  Is there a single unified story of Scripture?

* Despite diverse scholarly opinions, the Bible ultimately presents a single unified story shaped by its divine authorship.

* The Holy Spirit, as the singular guiding force behind all Scripture, ensures that the entire Bible tells one cohesive narrative.

Q2. Why learn about the unified story?

* Provides a cohesive worldview
* Clarifies the gospel
* Defines our identity & purpose
* Prevents misinterpretation
* Focuses on Christ
* Reveals God’s character

Q3. What is the unified story?

* Dispensationalism – two separate peoples in the bible, Israel and the Church
* Covenantalism - a framework that organizes biblical history around explicit and implied covenants.
* Promise-plan - The whole Bible is about God's unbreakable promise to send a Rescuer. He keeps reminding people of it, works through a specific family line to preserve it, and calls them to share it globally.

Q4. How does this apply to my life?

* It will give us confidence in the scriptures
* Increase our hope and trust in God
* We will better understand the promises we have been given
